2.3 Bar ist ein Roadmovie im Stile von Natural Born Killers oder Perdita Durango. Mary hat Glasknochen, Konstantin ist blind. Trotzdem beschließen beide, mit Marys Oldsmobile nach Griechenland zu fahren, das Land ihrer philosophischen Idole. Aber schon bald wird klar, dass sich die beiden auch daneben benehmen können. Bereits bei der ersten Provokation eskaliert die Gewalt, und von da an ziehen Mary und Konstantin eine Spur der Verwüstung hinter sich her.

2.3 Bar ist ein mehr oder weniger klassisches Roadmovie im amerikanischen Stil, geprägt von weiten Landschaften, einem geilen Auto und viel Musik. Was eher weniger klassisch ist, sind seine Protagonisten.
Mary, ständig begleitet von ihrem geliebten Bordercollie Aristoteles, hat Glasknochen, ist rotzfrech, tätowiert, autark und mit sehr derber Sprache ausgestattet. Sie sammelt leidenschaftlich amerikanische Waffen. Constantin hingegen ist blind, sprachbehindert, aus gutem Hause und zurückhaltend. Was die beiden verbindet, ist ihre Leidenschaft für griechische Philosophen. Auf Anhieb ist Constantin von der lautstarken Mary beeindruckt – im Gegensatz zu seinen Eltern. Als Mary ihnen die Idee offenbart, dass sie mit Constantin in ihrem Oldsmobile 442 nach Griechenland möchte und dafür Geld von ihnen verlangt, kommt es zum Eklat. Die beiden brennen einfach durch, und noch immer aufgewühlt entführen Mary und Constantin kurz darauf einen Neonazi. Als dieser einen Fluchtversucht unternimmt, töten sie ihn eher zufällig. Die Spirale der Gewalt beginnt.
Die Idee für den Film kam uns schon 2015, nach einer Tagung auf dem Jahrestreffen der OI-Gesellschaft (OI steht für Osteogenesis Imperfecta = Glasknochen). Peter Radke sagte hier den Satz, dass er immer bemitleidet wurde, dass er kein 100 Meter Läufer hätte werden können, aber nie gefragt wurde, ob er einer hätte werden wollen.
Wir möchten einen Film machen, in dem zwei Menschen mit offensichtlichen Behinderungen die Helden, bzw. Antihelden sind, die bad ass ihr Ding durch ziehen und sich von niemandem behindern lassen.

2.3 Bar is a roadmovie in the style of Natural Born Killers or Perdita Durango. Mary has brittle bone disease, and Konstantin is blind. Despite this, they decide to drive Mary’s Oldsmobile to Greece, the land of their philosophical idols. However, it soon becomes clear that they can also misbehave. At the first provocation, violence escalates, and from then on, Mary and Konstantin leave a trail of destruction behind them.
Director’s Statement
2.3 Bar is a more or less classic road movie in an american style, with wide landscapes, an awesome car and lots of great songs. What is less classic, however, are its protagonists.
Mary, constantly accompanied by her beloved Border Collie Aristotle, has brittle bone disease, is cheeky, tattooed, self-sufficient, and equipped with very coarse language. She passionately collects American weapons. Konstantin, on the other hand, is blind, speech-impaired, from a good family, and reserved. What connects the two is their passion for Greek philosophers. Konstantin is immediately impressed by the loud Mary – unlike his parents. When Mary reveals to them the idea that she wants to go to Greece with Konstantin in her Oldsmobile 442 and asks them for money, it leads to a scandal. The two simply run away, and still agitated, Mary and Konstantin soon kidnap a neo-Nazi and accidentally kill him when he tries to escape. The spiral of violence begins.
The idea for the film came to us back in 2015, after a conference at the annual meeting of the OI Society (OI stands for Osteogenesis Imperfecta = brittle bone disease). Peter Radke said here that he was always pitied for not being able to become a 100-meter runner, but nobody ever asked if he would have wanted to be one.
We want to make a film in which two people with obvious disabilities are the heroes, or anti-heroes, who badassly do their thing and let no one hinder them.
